Welcome to Taku Engineering
Zach Boldrick, PE
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Zach has been around piping and mechanical systems since childhood, helping with his family’s industrial refrigeration business in Dallas until he left for college. While in college he worked at a heat exchanger fabricator and as a designer at an HVAC firm. Following graduation in 2008, he moved to Alaska to spend more time outdoors.
When he first arrived in Alaska, Zach worked on designs for rural water and sewer systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, generators, district steam systems, boilers and glycol systems, and commercial HVAC designs. Zach then worked for a large Alaskan telecom company designing infrastructure to support specialized communication equipment. In 2014, he became the senior mechanical engineer at Dowland-Bach responsible for all mechanical designs at the company. While there he designed hydraulic control panels for oil wells, chemical injection systems, specialized piping skids, and electrical control panels. He was also in charge of mechanical estimation, scheduling, and project management for equipment fabrication for multimillion-dollar projects.
In 2018, Zach joined Taku Engineering as the Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering department. Since joining Taku Engineering, Zach has supported mechanical designs from the gas fields of Barrow, AK to water turbine generators in Dutch Harbor. Zach enjoys mentoring and developing junior engineers. When he’s not at work or busy wrangling his children, he spends his time hiking or fishing.
