Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Job Title: Technician I

Taku Engineering is actively seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill an entry level Technician I position in our Anchorage, Alaska office. The successful candidate will lead assist with inspections and surveys throughout Alaska. Duties include traveling to remote Alaska to assist with tank and piping inspections, as well as cathodic protection surveys. This is an entry level position with on the job training with the expectation to develop into a full time long term position. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Duties:

• Travel to rural Alaska to complete tank and piping inspections and cathodic protection surveys.
• Assist inspectors in performing NDT procedures.
• Organize tools and materials.
• Collect relevant data and assist in performing calculations pertaining to suitability for continued service.
• Draft inspection reports.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Move, carry, and lift objects in excess of 50 pounds
• Strong work ethic and teamwork
• Work extended hours and stand for extended periods of time.
• Willing to learn and follow instructions.
• Clean driving record and able to pass a drug test.

Preferred Additional Qualifications/Skills:

• Some college courses, associate’s degree or Occupation Endorsement Certificate.
• Previous NDT experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.

Schedule:

Dependent on workload. The work will require travel to remote field locations and overtime.
