API 653
API 653 “Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction” is a standard developed and published by the American Petroleum Institute (API). API 653 covers the inspection, repair, alteration, and reconstruction of steel aboveground storage tanks used in the petroleum and chemical industries. This standard provides the minimum requirements for maintaining the integrity of aboveground storage tanks after they have been placed into service. It applies to maintaining the integrity of the foundation, bottom, shell, structure, roof, attached appurtenances, and nozzles to the face of the first flange, first threaded joint, or first welding-end connection of the tank. Per State and Federal regulations inspection programs such as API 653 are a required component of any Integrity Management program. Taku Engineering maintains a core staff of certified API 653 inspectors to assist our clients with the assessment of tankage and help ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements. Taku Engineering can perform the inspections and provide the engineering services for any required alterations or repairs.

- Tank Settlement Evaluation
- Optional Engineered Tank Alterations
API 570
API 570 “Piping Inspection Code” is an inspection code developed and published by the American Petroleum Institute (API). API 570 inspections assess condition of in-service piping to identify coating, corrosion, or mechanical damage that may adversely affect piping system operation. Per State and Federal regulations, inspections programs such as API 570 are a required component of any Integrity Management program. Taku Engineering maintains a core staff of certified API 570 inspectors to assist our clients with the assessment of piping systems and help ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements.
