Curtis Farrar
Senior Engineering Technician
Senior Engineering Technician
As a life-long Alaskan, Curt Farrar has had the great opportunity to perform a wide range of corrosion control and construction related projects across the state. Starting off in the construction industry, his experience included work as a general laborer, heavy equipment operation, coating applicator, and placer mining foreman. This work brought him into contact with installation of cathodic protection anodes for various road construction projects. As the Alaskan construction industry waned in the late 1980’s, Mr. Farrar was able to quickly transition to the world of corrosion control engineering and has not looked backed since.
With over 30 years of experience in the corrosion control industry, Curt’s project background includes performing corrosion monitoring and integrity management program services, cathodic protection evaluation and design, coating engineering and specification, design and construction package development, construction oversight and field engineering representation, and regulatory compliance assessment and review. He has evaluated infrastructure including oil and gas piping; fuel distribution and bulk storage facilities, marine dock and pier systems, water and wastewater systems, military and municipal facilities, and power generation facilities.
When not working, Mr. Farrar enjoys traveling, photography, cartooning and sketching, and dabbling in painting. While the latter item has yet to demonstrate any signs of tangible genius, he remains cautiously optimistic for the future.
