Welcome to Taku Engineering
Harry Buchea, III
Senior Engineering Technician
Senior Engineering Technician
Harry was born and raised in the Copper River Valley. As an avid outdoorsman, he routinely encountered the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) which piqued his interest in the oil and gas industry. At the age of 18, he started an internship performing corrosion surveys on TAPS. This internship started his career in the corrosion engineering industry. Over 20 years later, Harry is still actively involved in corrosion engineering and has applied these skillsets on pipelines, refineries, above and belowground storage tanks, marine facilities, docks, bulk fuel storage terminals, loading terminals, military bases, electrical generation plants, water/wastewater facilities, mines, and gas stations.
One of Harry’s responsibilities as a Senior Corrosion Engineering Technician was to develop estimates and proposals for projects. Ten years ago, this transitioned him into becoming Taku Engineering’s Business Development Manager. Now his work time is split in between business development, running corrosion related projects, and mentoring the next generation of corrosion technicians. While not working, he can usually be found hunting or fishing with friends and family.
