Welding Engineer / Senior Project Manager
K.C. Wigren is a Project Manager and Welding Engineer at Taku Engineering, joining the team in early 2024. He is a graduate from Ferris State University where he obtained a B.S. in Welding Engineering Technology. Prior to Taku, K.C. wore many hats working for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company for 10 years. While at Alyeska, he worked as a Welding Engineer, Integrity Engineer, and Contingency Repair Engineer. He also acted as Alyeska’s Subject Matter Expert in several areas to include welding, hot tapping, materials, sleeve repairs, and other contingency repairs on oil and gas transmission lines. At Alyeska, K.C. worked on large pump station reconfiguration projects, above and below ground integrity investigations, and numerous pipeline leaks requiring long days and focused attention to restore the integrity of the pipeline system. At Taku, K.C. continues to use his welding engineering background to assist in reviewing and developing welding procedures for clients, as well as managing a wide range of engineering projects.
K.C. was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He enjoys hunting and fishing whenever he can, but you’re more likely to run into him at an ice rink. As a lifelong hockey player himself, his wife and 3 kids have also played hockey since they could walk. He volunteers his off-time coaching multiple hockey teams and has a passion for seeing kids pursue their potential.
