Michael was born and raised in Uncasville, Connecticut. After graduating from high school he attended a five-year apprenticeship and moved to Alaska. He worked as an electrician in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Healy, before meeting his wife and settling in Anchorage. Michael worked full time as a maintenance electrician at the University of Alaska while simultaneously putting himself and his wife through college.
Michael holds Electrical Journeyman licenses in both Alaska and Connecticut. He has 15 years of electrical construction experience including installation of power, lighting, fire alarm, motor control, and cathodic protection (CP) systems. He also upgraded building systems to improve energy efficiency, and maintained electrical, fire alarm, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems.
Michael has been with Taku Engineering since 2011. He is a Civil Engineering, PE with over 10 years of experience in engineering. Michael has led and supported many projects including; microturbine design and installation, coating assessments, culvert and piping integrity assessments, municipal power system upgrades, municipal water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades, dock inspections, pier CP system design and installation, petroleum processing facility piping installation, variable frequency drive installation, loading terminal renovation, and tank farm site repairs to name a few.
On his off-time Michael enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter, gardening, running his dogs, and keeping bees.
