William Cobb, PE is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Taku Engineering. Bill grew up in Florida, began his career in Texas, and moved to Alaska in 2018. He, his wife and two daughters, live in Eagle River, AK.
Bill received Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mechanical and Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and is currently licensed in six states. Bill has over two decades of project engineering and management experience in the oil and gas (upstream and midstream) industry. His experience includes offshore drilling engineering, facilities surveillance and engineering (onshore and offshore), pipeline engineering, piping design and stress analysis, steam system analysis and sulfur facilities engineering. Bill has served the ExxonMobil Production Company, Mobil Equatorial Guinea Inc., Esso Chad, Esso Norway, Savage Sulphur Services, Shell Oil Company, ConocoPhillips, and Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. His assignments have been foreign and domestic, many of which were in remote locations. Bill also served in the U.S. Army in Berlin, Germany.
Bill has been involved with complex projects from problem definition, concept selection, detailed design, commissioning, and close out. He has experience with a wide range of facilities and equipment, has a sound understanding of engineering principles, and is committed to quality, value engineering and safety.
